Srinagar, Aug 13 (KNO): JK Cement Ltd, through its subsidiary Saifco Cements Pvt. Ltd, has launched its flagship brand JK Super Cement in Kashmir, marking the start of local manufacturing and full-scale distribution across the Valley. The move focuses on boosting local manufacturing, creating jobs and ensuring timely supply for Kashmir’s growing construction and public works sector. “This is a natural extension of our long-term strategy in the North,” said Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director, JK Cement Ltd, during the launch, here in SKICC as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). With public infrastructure and housing development on the rise, local production will allow the company to meet demand more efficiently, he added. Joint Managing Director and CEO, Madhavkrishna Singhania, said the step is aimed at “translating vision of sustainable and inclusive growth into tangible action,” adding that it would help strengthen the local economy, build skills and generate employment. Calling the launch “a proud moment,” Saifco Cements Director, Suhail Manzoor Guna, said it reflected their commitment to building a stronger, more self-reliant Jammu & Kashmir. Co-director, Dawood Altaf Guna, said the brand would supply “top-quality cement to meet the region’s growing infrastructure needs while creating meaningful jobs.” It is worth mentioning that the cement industry in Jammu & Kashmir has been growing steadily over the past few decades, driven by infrastructure development, housing demand and government-led construction projects.
